Steven M. Hoefflin, M.D., F.A.C.S.
Steven M. Hoefflin, M.D., F.A.C.S., graduated first in his class at UCLA Medical School in 1972. He continued his education in general surgery and completed a full plastic surgical residency training program at the UCLA Medical Center, where he received the coveted Surgical Medal Award. He is Board certified by the American Board of Plastic Surgery and is a Fellow of the American College of Surgeons. Dr. Hoefflin is an Associate Clinical Professor, Division of Plastic Surgery, at UCLA Medical Center where he received the Teacher of the Year Award, (1985-1986). He was Chief of Plastic Surgery at Santa Monica Hospital Medical Center, (1982-1989) and Chief of Plastic Surgery at Brotman Medical Center (1980-1985). He is a visiting professor for the International School of Aesthetic Plastic Surgery and holds visiting professorship positions at numerous universities. Dr. Hoefflin is a member of the Board of Directors of the UCLA Plastic Surgery Society and is a Fellow of the American College of Surgeons. He is a member of numerous professional organizations including the American Society for Plastic and Reconstructive Surgeons, the American Society for Aesthetic Plastic Surgery, Los Angeles Plastic Surgery Society, the Rhinoplasty Society and the Lipoplasty Society, He is a member of the Royal Society of Medicine and the International College of Surgeons. Due to Dr. Hoefflin’s extensive interest in plastic surgical innovations and education, he is frequently requested to teach at plastic surgical seminars and symposiums both here and abroad. On March 19, 1988, "The Hoefflin Building", located at 1530 Arizona Avenue, Santa Monica, California, which was designed under direct supervision of Steven M. Hoefflin, M.D., was utilized as a model for outpatient surgicenter by the American Society of Outpatient Surgeons during that society's annual meeting. 3.
